11-17-14

C:
- is a military- scooting maniac.  She gets all over the place now.  And she is also quite the stander.  We've got one of those baby sound- and- sight tables, and she stood using it forever the other day.  The best part is her joy when standing: she just randomly starts cracking up at her elation over being able to stay vertical!
- is eating more and more foods, from broccoli to chicken to egg noodles to potato.  Basically, whatever I make for the rest of us, I can break into little bits, as long as the texture is okay for her.  She knows when she has had enough and purses her lips tightly.  We still feed her purees, but she has come to not adore them so much and puts up a strike against some.  I'd say her favorite thing is maple deli turkey.
- in addition to waving and saying hi, is trying to say "Boo!"  When Joe or I play peek- a- boo with her, and we accentuate the "boo!" she makes the "b" sound and tries to say the "oo."  It's a little muffled, but you can tell she is on track.  So very cute.

K:
- is consistently earning stickers for her potty chart.  While we decided training her in the traditional sense was not a good idea (anyone with a success story has said the worst thing you can do is push it), she has been motivated by the Elmo potty sticker system.  Yesterday she and I went to the store and she picked out her very own big- kid undies.  She went diaperless the whole weekend and used the potty-- except for when sleeping, that is.
- had her second haircut yesterday. She had such a good time that she was mad she had to leave and begged me to put her back in the chair with the elephant cape back on her.  We just had the girl even it off a bit since K still doesn't have tons of locks.  We managed her first real back- of- the- head pony yesterday-- all her ponies to date have been on top of the head with that cute but pesky baby whispy stuff stacking up.
- has been saying lots of funny things, such as: "That's ridiculous! [but really says "dick--u-- less]"; "It's wicked annoying"; "Stop that fussin' Cah- ly!"; "Aww she's so cute!", even when the person is OLDER-- ha!; "You gotta go be a teacher so you can get money?"; "My bones hurt!"; and "Go Buffalo Bills!"  Also, all sports = "football." :)
