K:
- loved her vacation week on Cape Cod-- especially the fact that she got to stay up later than usual every night.  She built sandcastles with Pop, Chris, Daddy, Leigh, and, on Thursday, her pal Danica.  She used to call Danica "Dani" but has now mastered a British- sounding "Dahn- ka."
- also on Cape Cod created a new hobby of catching eels.  Daddy helped her use her big kid net, and we would find her daily behind the cottage checking out the eels.  She would ask each of us, "Come see them!  The eeeels!"  It's going to be tough to go the beach and NOT go eel hunting at this point.
- took outside showers on Cape Cod and became obsessed.  One day, nothing would get her back from the beach to the house to take a nap. I promised crayon time, fruit snacks, and even TV.  She wasn't interested in leaving.  But when I said, "You can take an outside shower," she hopped right up and chanted all the way back to the house, "Takin' an outside showah!"

Some current cute speech items:
- 'Lay down me' and 'Play me' (consistently neglects that pesky "with")
- Any reference to the beach = 'Beach Saturday' because we kept telling her 'We are going to the beach Saturday.'
- When you lie down with her, she talks you through the going- to- sleep routine we've used with her.  She will tell you, "Goodnight.  Sleep tight.  Close eyes.  I bud you."
- Seems to be constantly asking to look at the "peek-ahs" and "bideos" on our phones
- If we say, "Everyone is sleeping" as a ploy to get her to bed, she will go through this whole list to check.  But the funny part is she throws animals and non- real people in.  It'll go something like this: "Is Cah-- ly sleepin?  Is Nana sleepin?"  "Is Cam sleepin?"  "Is Caillou sleepin?"  "Is Nick sleepin?"

C:
- is now full- on jumping in her Jolly Jumper.  She is highly entertained.  The cutest part is that her left foot always leads, and the right foot kind of lags behind as support.
- was an angel on the beach each day-- so quiet and easy to nap.  On Sunday, despite our best efforts to cover her up from head to toe, she got a little tan.  Joe and I are still cracking up at how tantastic she looks; thus, we've started calling her The Situation.
- has become really tactile.  While we can throw any number of toys her way, she would rather play around with, say, the bag from Lay's chips (loves the sound and the metallic look on the inside).  One day on the Cape, she sat in her Bumbo and played with said chip bag for a solid thirty minutes.  It's the little things, I guess.
