C:
- is now eating loads of baby foods: apples, mangos, pears, sweet potatoes, carrots, turkey and rice combo, spinach and fruit combo, among others.  She also eats baby oatmeal like a champ.
- lets her sister do things like put make- up on her face (pretend make- up, of course), and just keeps smiling when K admonishes her, 'Cah- ly, sit still!'  She lights up like a brilliant sky when K comes into the room, and she looks at K dreamily like a kid with a crush.
-  has been babbling, usually when in her Jolly Jumper.  We commonly hear, 'Ah, daaah- dahh!" and "Ga- abaaah!"  She clearly thinks she is relaying something to us and it's quite cute.  Love hearing her "speak," and she still squeals in delight a lot too.

K:
- is very interested in the medical world as of late.  She loves pretending her Caillou stickers are band- aids and will mend you with them.  She thinks any freckle or mark is a boo- boo and will ask you why you have it, and then tries to patch you up.  She also believes that any injury means you need to go to the hospital-- so with any fall- over Carly has experienced, K has informed us, "Cah- ly needs the hospital."  Any person dressed in scrubs on TV or in person she believes it "Cah-ly's doctor."
- loves Hide n' Seek but hasn't quite mastered the roles.  She closes her eyes and counts to ten even when she is the one hiding. :)
- with language:
         - has lots of cute new colloquial phrases:  Answers in the affirmative with the word, "Sure!" instead of yes; often says, "Oh, yes!" to tell you something is VERY true; tells you, "I'm fine!" when she doesn't need any food etc; tells you, "See ya!"  or "See ya in the mornin'!" She is obsessed with asking us, 'What's so funny?" when we laugh, and says, 'That's too funny!" when she laughs.
         - comes up with a million excuses NOT to do something, even when the excuses don't fit.  For example, when she doesn't want to go to bed, she will try: "A scary monster is gonna come in," but then also: "I'm too big"; "I'm too little"; "I'm hot"; "I'm cold"; "I'm thirsty"; "I'm too tired"; and "I'm not tired."
        - sometimes confuses "why" and "why not."  The other day, I said we needed to pick something up at the post office, and she asked. 'Why not?'  But then she corrected herself quickly-- smart cookie.

K:
- is all about Caillou.  She can tell you all about his cat, Gilbert, and his friends, Clementine ("Lemon- time"), Jeffrey, and Jason.  She not only wants to watch the show all the time but now has a sticker and coloring book on the topic too.  Joe and I have-- confession-- more than once told her Caillou is taking a nap when we just can't bear to watch the show again.
- has picked up lots of little colloquial sayings, such as: "Got it!" (when she understands something); "What's so funny??"; and "Aw, you're okay!"  While she's been speaking for a while, it's fun to watch her pick up slang/ informal sayings.  She's also really into adverbs lately--- lots of "really" ("I'm REALLY scared!") and "so bad" or "so much."  And her placement of pronouns is still adorably erroneous-- "Pick up me" and "Throw it me!"
- should give us money for the number of times a day she asks, "What happened?" and then we would be wealthy.

C:
- was baptized on Sunday.  She cried a little when the priest wanted to make the cross under her collar, and again when she was "dunked," but overall did well.  She had fun celebrating with family after the event.  We had a lovely day for a BBQ and some tasty cake and cake pops, as well as a Prosecco cocktail made in Carly's honor.
- is gaining more and more strength each day with her sitting- up.
- sat in a restaurant high chair for the first time in Newport yesterday.  We ate at the Red Parrot and Carly loved playing with the drink menu throughout the meal.  She had so much fun that she was tuckered out and slept well in the stroller for our walk.
