6- 18- 14

K:
- is very into "keening" AKA cleaning.  When I clean, she asks me for a cloth, and to "make it soapy!" I usually just pretend to throw a little cleanser on a rag, and she gets very excited to clean off any and all surfaces she can find.
- also enjoys coloring every surface she can find, so it's a dang- good thing she cleans too.  Yesterday she decided to decorate the wall, fridge, and floor with blue.  Thank goodness Crayola are washable.  We have warned her and warned her about "only coloring in the book!" but she does not heed.  Even two of her baby dolls are now crayoned and chalked up.
- has not mastered all her pronouns yet, and when she wants to ask me to hold her, rather than saying, "Will you hold me?" asks "Will I hold you?"  It's so precious.  Sometimes she just reaches out and says, "I hold you!  I hold you!"  Our girl is still affectionate to everyone, including little sis, whose cheeks she loves to pinch while saying, 'Cahly- you cute!  Cute!"

C:
- started food beyond cereal.  Yesterday was day one, and we started with squash.  She was unsure during the lunch feeding but did better at dinner.  Mess was abundant, and adorable.
- rolled around on her playmat this morning with her buddy Julie.  They checked each other out, sized each other up, and then grinned at each other for a while.  The expressions were very sweet.
- has started to self- soothe for naps.  She doesn't require as much TLC before a nap anymore, and becomes quiet and drifts off more quickly.  Little girl is getting so big!

6-12-14

K:
- loves to "read" her two favorite books to Carly-- "the cake book" and "the sister book."  She puts a pillow sham on C's lap to rest the book upon, and goes page by page.  If C looks away, K will admonish her: "Look, Carly!  Look at the sister book!"
- for the first time, told me without pompting or repeating, "I bud you, Mommy" (AKA "I love you").  I melted.  She snuggled right up to make her declaration.
- constantly asks what various people are doing-- from family members to little friends.  For example, she will ask: "What's Daddy doin'?"  I will tell her he is at work, and three seconds later she asks again.

C:
- had the follow- up appt for her toe today.  The surgeon was very pleased with the healing.  She also said the pathology came back, and it was indeed a hair that had been lodged up--- a true hair tourniquet.  We are just so glad this whole ordeal is over with and she's back to good.
- is rolling around on the floor like a champ.  She's still not a fan of tummy time (never has been) but enjoys seeing what she can make her little body do from an on- chest position.
- loves playing with her car seat toys and her paci.  She's started lifting the paci in and out of her mouth.  Seems like a fun little game for her. :) She continues to be super- portable and easy to take along wherever we go.  Happy- go- lucky little thing.
